Website redesign for the non-profit
The Robert H. Jackson Center’s (RHJ Center) addressed our team of UX specialists to identify main pain points that users have when using their website and provide a redesign mockup based on the research findings.
The Center strives to promote justice and the rule of law through Robert H. Jackson's remarkable achievements as a former US Supreme Court Justice and Chief of Council of the Nuremberg Trial after World War II.
As a member of the UX team, I conducted user research and redesigned the website based on our findings. By addressing pain points and creating a user-centered design, we improved the overall experience and enhanced visitors' understanding of the Center's work.

We conducted both qualitative and quantitative research using surveys through Google Forms, as well as more extensive interviews conducted via Zoom.
The questions asked participants about their lifestyle, internet use, interest in history, researching scholarly information on the web, and their impression of the Robert H. Jackson Center website.

"Can't waste time examining a single article only to realize it’s not what I am looking for."
Results & Revisions
The video archive was the most interesting RHJC material
A podcast is the favorite medium overall
The archives need search functionality and better delivery of content
Teachers/students utilize media that discuss contemporary issues
"Outdated aesthetics, more past than future-oriented"
Users struggled to understand the center's purpose right away
"The “Give Today” donation button feels too prominent"
Most users learn about events through social media
"I would communicate who Robert H. Jackson is right at the beginning"
As part of our efforts to enhance the user experience of the RHJ Center website, we revised the information architecture of the website.
We carefully analyzed the existing sitemap, identifying areas where navigation could be streamlined and content reorganized for greater coherence and accessibility.

Highlighted events and activities
Learnings
Conducting user research is critical to the success of a website redesign
In this case study, the design decisions were informed by user research findings, which helped to identify pain points and areas for improvement. I learned the importance of research-informed design.
Prioritizing content hierarchy and showcasing ongoing events can improve engagement
The RHJ Center website would be able to better engage its visitors by creating a clear content hierarchy and highlighting ongoing events and activities. I learned that content strategy is critical and design features should draw attention to key information and events.
Intuitive navigation and search features enhance user experience
The introduction of search and filter functionality and an interactive scroll for the long "Nuremberg Trial" timeline was a good reminder that creating intuitive navigation and search feature helps users easily find the information they are looking for.
